Pittman Photography, founded by John C. Pittman, opened its doors in 1977 to service a market that was still in its infancy; the youth sports photography market. Pittman Photography quickly established itself as the leader of this fast growing industry both locally in the Lehigh Valley and on a national level. It was quickly recognized that the photo labs that existed in the 1970's had no idea how to handle the youth sports market. That year, Mr. Pittman started Sport Stars Color Lab to service his own needs as well as those of photographers across the country that were photographing youth sports. Memory Mates, trading cards, buttons, magnets and key chains were quickly added to the list of available products.
